Welcome to the new Eyott Sailing Club Web Site and the very first Commodores Blog.   For here on known as Bobs Blog.  Hopefully I’ll be able to update my blog from time to time as time goes by.

Firstly big thanks to William Hadley who takes time out of running his business to design and update the site.  Hopefully as we move forward and the site is developed further all the members will find the site a very useful point of reference and will be able access all the information they need about what’s going (and about to go on) at the club.

Well the 2008 season has drawn to a close and its now just the social events and the AGM to take us through the winter.  This weekend we of course have the usual bonfire night on Sunday 2nd November.   The Laying Up Supper of course follows this on 17th November.  Full details are in the latest edition on Neaps, which is attached to the site.  Please inform Jennifer ASAP if you intend to attend.

Also this weekend a few of us are racing at Up River Sailing Club, Hullbridge with a 13.00hrs start.  I’ll intend to be racing depending on the weather.  If you not up to racing but would like to see the sailing an excellent viewing position is available on the north bank of the Crouch next to Woodham Ferrers Sailing club at the end of Marsh Farm Lane. Being right on the start line it give a great view of the antics, which generally go on as we jostle for position.

As I speak Anita is preparing the sailing and social calendar for 2009.  Once that is ready we will be able to post it on the site and give you all advance warning about next years calendar.  If any of you know when your going to be away next year it might be an idea if you drop Anita an e-mail so she can keep it mind for the duty roster which she has yet to compile.

Well that’s it from me
